"Being a 4th year B. Arch student, I studied the course of Masters in Architecture and Urban Design in Umea University. I was the youngest student in my batch to study masters at the age of 21. It was a great experience to be with few of my batch mates who were very experienced and almost double the age of mine. It was a very unique experience to be and learn with the people from different parts of the world. Extreme climate conditions, various cultures, new methodologies, different languages, all these to experience at least once in a life time. My research design project that I did in Umea University was "Ostra social housing - a new typology for living". I had Prof. Daniel, Prof. Matte and Prof. Carla as my tutors. Each one of them was best at their domains and guided me throughout my design project. For my end semester portfolio review I had Dr. Tonia Carless as the head of the jury panel. She is well known for her research work in the field of spatial politics, cultural and urban spaces. I could still remember the comments that I have received on the day of my jury. "It’s a proud moment for all your professors who have guided you throughout the process. Coming from a different country it wouldn't have been very easy for you to study urban design in Sweden. But you have succeeded in that and your portfolio is the end result of that" - she said. That was it. I felt all the effort paid off finally. I would suggest every student to experience this feeling"
